Have you gotten tired of your default Bing or yahoo search and needs some changes in life?
Or do you need a way to change the default search provider for a lot of users in an organization?
You can off course use the preferences group policy to import the registery key needed from HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchScopes where the DefaultScope key defines the default search provider.
Or you you can use the Custom ADM template that i just published to the guide section and import that to the Group Policy that will be applied
Does the google add-on need to be installed in the first place or does this ADM do it all fo you ?(install and sets it as default)
Good question… I`m not 100% sure.
I`ve never thought of that, just implemented the settings by GPO preferences or this ADM template and it has always worked.
Guess it is not necessary to install upfront but you could create a custom GPO containing your custom settings and apply it to a computer object as a test to be sure..
